BONFIRE AND
FIREWORKS
POYNINGS BONFIRE NIGHT 7th
November 2009
A great evening even if the weather did try it's hardest to dampen spirits and fireworks. The costs were covered
thanks to the generosity of those who donated during and before.
Thanks to Mikey for the pictures and everyone else who made it happen.
I will sort out the traffic when I'm good and ready!
Please, put it away.
If we keep smiling, no one will notice the gnomes we have put outside the Oak.
All getting excited now.
The suspense is just too much.
Right, I'm nearly ready, lets get this traffic sorted.
Of course I can play the drum with only one stick.
Poynings new Taxi Service - One way only..
I say chaps, could you carry me a bit more carefully, I don't want to miss the fun.
I'm sure these sticks are getting longer.
Look over there, someones hat is on fire.
That's is Barbara, rattle that bucket.
I didn't see Billy Connelly arrive with his cat.
Have you had any luck hitch hiking here?
I see you've caught one as well
Has anyone got a light, it's dark up here.
Shouldn't the middle be on fire as well?
Difficult to photograph fireworks in the rain
It's no good trying to sneak off Alex when everyone is just coming back.
So this is what goes on when no one is looking..
Well, Roger and Ernie are having a good time.
Have you seen the lastest style in hats, it's all the rage you know.
It's goodbye from Simon, and it's goodbye from Liz.
It's good to see someone is working
The end of the evening.

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 3th 2007
The bonfire night was a great success, it was so warm that people
were even picnicking. Thank you to everyone who organised it.

Hi Me Hearty's, I'm Sir Guy 12th of Poynings. It's so kind of you to let me rest a while in your
quaint little Pub. I have heard rumours of a grand gathering soon. Am I invited?

Hold that steady chaps, I think I've got a bit of heart burn.

That's better, your getting the hang of it now.

We are live on radioactive.

Still glowing.
ET.

You said I would get a dignified lift to get a nice view of the fireworks.

I'm dying to throw this water over someone.

Don't panic, I'll put it out if there's a problem.

Is it Sheila or Dawn?

LAST YEAR - SATURDAY NOVEMBER 4th 2006
This years Fantastic Display was very well attended with only one disgruntled partygoer who
started off getting a bit hot under the collar but ended up as being just a lot of hot air. Many thanks to all
those who worked hard to organise this great event.
A truly superb show. Thanks to Nicki for organising it, Mark for the field and to
Phil, Helen and the lads for all their effort in setting up the field, complete with generator and
safety equipment. Thanks to Mikey for a great 11th Guy! And to all the drummers and torch bearers who
led the procession with the guy to the Blacksmiths field. Thanks to Rene’s son in law Neil Smith for
the torches and expert advice.
Unfortunately there was quite a shortfall on the gate takings possibly due to last years shortcomings!
Thankfully the Royal Oak helped out plus last year’s compensation.

I don't care what you say, it's nice and warm in the Oak and I'm staying here with my book.
Well, if you are going to carry me I'll come along

Would you like the Big Issue?

What's that big pile of rubbish? I am NOT going up there

Well, if you insist.

Oi, it's a bit warm

Great view though I must give up smoking

I've got a bad feeling about this!! Gone.
