1.    Minutes

The Minutes of the previous meeting had been circulated.  MJ asked that 2(a) be amended with the following added: “MJ raised the issue that he felt the decision to tell Sally Brown she was not wanted, after many years of supplying food at the firework display, should have been discussed by us as a council, and decided upon by Councillors, before anything was done”.  This was duly added and the Minutes signed by the Chairman.

(a)              Peter Griffiths asked whether there was any progress with Mill Close parking.  He is to follow this up at WSCC and the Clerk is to make contact also to check on state of play.

(b)             Finger Posts

PG said that we should put in a bid, applications to the community initiative scheme to fund this.  The Clerk will action this.

(c)              Speed Signs

PG asked whether we felt, a year on, whether the speed signs had made a difference?  The general consensus was that they had made a difference.  PG is to arrange for speed loops to be installed later in the year to check.

(d)              Highway Rangers

We were encouraged to continue to use this free service.  The Clerk advised that she had sent them a list of jobs around the village for 2009.

(h)              Rail Fare Concessions

It was agreed that we should continue to offer the subsidy of £5 to senior rail cards.  Therefore if parishioners apply for a rail card through the Clerk, it is £15.40 rather than £20.40.  Bus Passes are still available through the Parish Council and should not be applied for direct to MSDC.
