POYNINGS CRICKET CLUB

2007
Although it wasn’t a great summer weather
wise for cricket, Poynings had another very enjoyable and a
typically inconsistent season. We managed to finish
10th in division one of the mid Sussex league and we
staved off relegation by winning our last two games. We got
knocked out in the first round of the national village knockout
but we did win the Henfield 20/20 for the second time in three
years with a very satisfactory win over the hosts in the final
with Jack Ritchie’s bowling being the difference between the
two sides.
Les Lowin organised another successful tour to Jersey and
next year we’re planning to go to Estonia on tour, to play
their national side.
Everything is now put away for winter and we will start nets
again next April, anyone interested in playing next season
please contact:
