POYNINGS EVERGREENS 2008
We have enjoyed our tea parties throughout the summer despite the weather. Our Host and Hostesses make us very
welcome in their homes, shifting their furniture around to make us comfortable when we were unable to sit and enjoy
the sun in their beautiful gardens.
We were lucky in the month of June when the sun came out - Lambert's garden was a picture.
July was full of surprises, Geoffrey Harris very kindly ask us to join him at Downmere, although the weather was
poor several members were able to walk around his lovely garden. At the end of July Margaret Cutress invited us all
to Twitten Bend for tea.
The monthly meetings were launched at Twitten Bend some sixteen years ago and in recognition of this Margaret
wanted to say thanks to all the hosts and helpers before she left for Red Oaks in Henfield. Our thanks to all the
Cutress family for the wonderful spread and for making the afternoon so special for us all.
High winds when we went to Manor Farm, thank goodness for Carol's lovely sponges they made up for the weather.
Sun thankfully in September when we went to Joan and Bill at Edburton.
Lovely sunny days followed but when it came to our October meeting with Joyce at Paythorne Farm down came the rain
but who cares? we had another enjoyable afternoon.
We were with Ian and Sue at Pangdean Farm in November and our Christmas party will be at Hobbs Cottage
with Wendy and Terry in December.
Remember if you are over sixty and are in need of some pleasant company and a tasty tea ring me and I will arrange
transport if required. Betty 857215
POYNINGS EVERGREENS 2008
If you are 60 years old or over why not come and join us?
We meet the first Monday of each month with lovely venues, tasty food and jolly good company!
*Many thanks to all our hosts and hostesses*. Transport no problem, just give me, Betty (above left), a ring on
857215.
We had a super time at Pangdean Farm in November thanks to Sue and Ian and of course Nicki
who provided the catering.
In December Wendy and Terry made us feel very welcome at Hobbs Cottage for our annual Christmas party which rounded
off a pleasant and successful year. We were disappointed that we were unable to go to the Royal Oak in February due
to the heavy fall of snow but we are looking forward to going to Fulking Farm House in March and in April we are
able to join Carol and Andrew at Newtimber Place.
Charmaine and Harry have kindly invited us back to Downside in May and weather permitting we will take tea sitting
around the pool (don't forget your costumes).
All being well we will be with Lambert at The Old Rectory, Newtimber in June and enjoy his beautiful show of roses
and in July we join Joan and Bill at The Old School House Edburton.
As you read this you will see how fortunate we are to have such generous Hosts and Hostesses. All those
over sixty are more than welcome to join us and transport can be arranged by ringing me on 857215.
Betty.
Huge thanks to all our hosts—all
our members really appreciate their extreme kindness and generosity.
