Poynings Village Fete June 2008
As usual, everyone's hard work meant that more funds were raised. A magnificent £2,066 which
helped to "makover" the church organ.
Thank you to everyone who helped on the big day, donated bric-a-brac, prizes, cakes etc. Also to
Rushfields Nursery who generously support the plant stall each year. And thank's of course to everyone who came and
enjoyed themselves. And thank you to Rene who I pinched this from!
Here are a few of the people who couldn't get away quick enough from the clicking of Sheila's
camara.

Last year - Saturday June 9th 2007
I hope you managed to make it this year, a record number of people attended and
many stalls sold out.
Over £2,000 was raised which is a record.
Helen Woodhams from the Garage won the champayne throw and Helen Nunn won the
champayne entrance ticket.
The weather was fantastic and quite a few red necks were spotted moving amongst
the crowds. (Not me of course, or the American type).
As usual Badger, Fox and the Wise Owl put on a great show for the children
although I did notice a few adults trying to pretend they weren't watching.
This year the Maypole re-appeared which was great fun although it did seem to get
into a tangle at times.
Many thanks to all the people who helped and slaved away over hot stoves making
cakes and things.
Here are a few photos of the Maypole. (Thanks to Helen Solomon) It seems you have
to be called Helen to participate.

And some other events (Thanks Sheila)

I'm not sure if the washing is dry yet!

Phew, they can eat a lot.

Do I get salad cream with a bag.

I think it was the man with the lead pipe in the conservatory.

It goes faster if you take the stand off.

Is there anybody there?

A bonus if you can knock my hat off!
